Experience has shown that the process of finding a language for one\u2019s own situation and personal history and making one\u2019s own desires conscious plays an important role. I support you in this process.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Psychoanalytic training<\/em><\/p>\n

I completed my training as a psychoanalyst in 2019 within the context of the International Lacanian Association (A.L.I., Association Lacanienne Internationale)<\/em> based in Paris, of which I am a corresponding member. Furthermore, I am a member of a regional group of the A.L.I. in Nice \/ C\u00f4te d\u2019Azur,\u00a0France, where I have lived for many years.<\/p>\n

The Association Lacanienne Internationale<\/em> is a state-recognised psychoanalytic association founded in 1982 by Dr. Charles Mellman and others and currently comprises groups in eighteen countries. Its aim is to transmit psychoanalysis in the present day in practical and theoretical terms, with a commitment to the works of Sigmund Freud and Jacques Lacan. The association facilitates the training and further development of psychoanalysts and the publication of relevant writings. In doing so, it focuses in particular on social change in our society, entering into a dialogue with art, culture and the sciences.<\/p>\n

As a native of Austria, however, the beginnings of my studies date back to my academic activities in Vienna, where I first came into contact with the psychoanalytic practice of Sigmund Freud<\/em> and Jacques Lacan<\/em>. In 2001 I became a member of the psychoanalytic research group Stuzzicadenti<\/em> in Vienna, where, from 2002 to 2004, I also attended the psychotherapy preparatory course Universit\u00e4tslehrgang<\/em> Psychotherapeutisches Prop\u00e4deutikum<\/em> (HOOP). From 2006 to 2007 I took part in the seminars and the ateliers cliniques <\/em>of the Institut du Champ freudien <\/em>in Strasbourg (Section clinique de Strasbourg sous les auspices du d\u00e9partement de psychanalyse de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Paris VIII, Association UFORCA<\/em>).<\/p>\n

Academic education<\/em><\/p>\n

My academic education<\/em> also began in Austria: I studied philosophy<\/em>, psychology<\/em> and pedagogy<\/em> as well as German language and literature<\/em> at the universities of Vienna and Graz. In 1990 I completed my Master in Philosophy<\/em> (Mag. phil.) in Vienna. In 1996, under a Ph.D. grant<\/em> awarded by the University of Vienna, I was a visiting researcher at the Department of Philosophy at the University of California, Berkeley \/ U.S.A. In 1999 I completed my Doctor in Philosophy<\/em> (Dr. phil.) at the University of Vienna, passing with \u201edistinction\u201c.<\/p>\n

Research and teaching<\/em><\/p>\n

From 1991 to 2005 I worked as a research assistant at the Institute for Science and Art (IWK). Since 2000 I have been a lecturer at the Institute of Philosophy and the Centre for Sex and Gender Studies (Geschlechterforschung) at the universities of Klagenfurt, Vienna and Graz, where, as part of my lectures, I frequently highlight the connections between philosophical and psychoanalytical topics.<\/p>\n

From 2009 to 2011, as research assistant and post-doc, I coordinated the research project Transferences: Psychoanalysis \u2013 Art \u2013 Society<\/em> at the University of Vienna in cooperation with the Viennese psychoanalytic research group Stuzzicadenti<\/em>, financed by the Vienna Science and Technology Fund (WWTF). (The project received the Gedankensprung<\/em> [\u201cleap of thought\u201d] prize for humanities, social sciences and cultural studies awarded by the City of Vienna in 2009.)<\/p>\n

In 2021 I completed my Habilitation<\/em>-procedure at the University of Klagenfurt, which grants me authorisation to teach (venia docendi<\/em>) the academic subject of philosophy at the university level. The title of my thesis was: Das resthafte Subjekt. Eine philosophisch-psychoanalytische Untersuchung \u00fcber die Ursache des Begehrens<\/em> [The Subject and its Remnants. A Philosophical-Psychoanalytic Investigation of the Cause of Desire].<\/p>\n

Further education and training<\/em><\/p>\n

My approach to psychoanalysis as a therapeutic practice <\/em>is closely linked to my academic exploration of psychoanalysis as theory of the subject and culture. I also publish on psychoanalytic issues and regularly participate in international congresses, conferences, seminars and working groups.<\/p>\n
